About Us

Who we are

New Town Health is part of TasCAHRD, which is the Tasmanian Council for Blood Borne Viruses and Sexual Health. We have worked in the Tasmanian health space since the 80s. We are members for local and national networks, and we collaborate with the health and well being community to support all Tasmanians regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, career and lifestyle choices.

Our team is made up of health professionals included GPs, Nurses, Social Workers, and community health educators.

Working in partnership with the Tasmanian community towards the elimination of blood borne viruses (BBV), related stigma and discrimination against such diseases, we provides services that promote the health and wellbeing of people living with, affected by or at risk of blood borne viruses and sexually transmitted infections.

New Town Health supports the Tasmanian community with shared responsibilities for blood borne viruses (BBV). We assist the community by:

  • Engaging and empowering partnerships.
  • Respectful and dignified interactions.
  • Embracing peoples lived experiences.
  • Operational excellence.
